5. The Standards Working Party
We were delighted to have worked on this project with the UK government's Land Registry (www.landregistry.gov.uk).
The Competency Standards for Conveyancing Paralegals were drafted by representatives from the Institute and Registry together with leading conveyancing experts from the Law School at the University of Westminster and the law firm, Nick Peterken, solicitors. That work was then scrutinised and refined with the kind assistance of the Standards Working Party.
6. Wide Applicability
The Competency Standards for Conveyancing Paralegals are designed to be used by a wide variety of employers. They work for different types of employer (in-house, law firm etc.) and different size of employer (sole practitioner to magic circle firm). They are, of course, only of relevance to those doing conveyancing work.
7. Solicitors Regulation Authority Compliant
These Competency Standards have been vetted by the SRA for professional conduct compliance purposes.
