We do not provide training
ourselves. This allows us to recommend other people's courses to
you based on quality and relevance.
If you are a training
provider and would like us to consider accrediting your courses
then please click here.
There are four different
categories of recommended course:
Mandatory
courses (for the Route to Qualification)
Approved
courses (for the Route to Qualification)
Recognised
training providers
Accredited
CPD providers
We recommend
that before buying any course you undertake your own research to
first ensure that it is suitable. The questions you need to ask
are:
- Are the
topics you cover relevant to you?
- Is the
course academic or practical in nature?
- How exactly
will it help you achieve your goals?
- Will
employers have heard of the course and recognise/value it?
- How long
will it last and how long will you have to complete it (not always
the
same thing!)?
- What
is the course focus (introductory, update, consideration of single
issue, etc.)?
- What
level is the course taught at (A level, undergraduate, Level 3
etc)?
- What
does it cost?
- What
is the method of delivery (distance learning, face-to-face, workbook
or
online etc)?
- What
is the method of assessment (if any) and where will any assessment
be
held?
- What
qualification (if any) do you receive and is it a recognised qualification?
- Is there
tutor support, if so, how and how often?
- What
is the minimum amount of time you need to devote to study each
week?
- How much
prior legal knowledge are you expected to have?
- How often
are the course materials updated to reflect changes in the law?
