Professional paralegals already work in a huge number of sectors.

To help us keep up-to-date with developments, and to provide us with general guidance and

feedback as required, we have created an Advisory Board.  These unpaid volunteers have very

different skills and experience, and do a wide variety of 'day jobs', but all assist us as and when

   needed.

Unlike many other professional bodies the Institute is secretariat led.  It goes not have a governing

council.  There are two reasons for this:

     1. Paralegals span so many sectors of the economy that a council could easily end up giving

greater weight and attention to those sectors the majority of councilors haled from

     2. The Institute needs to make up what it lacks in size by being efficient and fast-responding to

change. This is best achieved through being secretariat led.

UK members are welcome to apply to join the Advisory Board.
